In October of the previous year, CRRC, in partnership with the Portuguese company Mota-Engil, secured a contract worth $1.4 billion for the construction of three subway lines and the supply of 132 train cars of two different types.
CRRC already has experience in supplying trains for Monterrey: in 2019, the company received an order for 26 two-car trains, which were put into operation in 2021.
Currently, the company is also working on another order in Mexico, which includes the supply of subway trains on tracks for Mexico City and the construction of an assembly center in Querétaro, Mexico.
