First, the upgrade program will be applied to electric trains, and then to diesel trains.
The Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov said that in two years Ukraine plans to replace all old suburban trains with modern ones, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to Ukrinform.
“We are already actively updating the rolling stock. Every month, Ukrzaliznytsia receives several dozen new railcars. We also plan to replace suburban trains. Electric trains are to be replaced first. Then we move on to diesel suburban trains. In two years, we plan to complete the process of replacing all commuter trains,” Kubrakov said.
Ukrzaliznytsia received 60 new gondola cars
In 2021, the company repaired 20 passenger cars, and in late 2021 and early 2022 received 25 of the 100 new passenger cars built under the Big Construction program.
