Despite a 7-month delay due to issues, including the COVID-19 pandemic, Metro do Porto has received 15 out of 18 ordered trams, with the remainder expected by the end of the year, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The contract’s cost was €49.6 million, marking CRRC’s first contract in urban rail transport in the EU.

These new trams can transport 244 passengers, reach speeds of up to 80 km/h, feature a lightweight design, monitoring system, and two control cabins.
