The EU is preparing a mechanism for compensating railways for damage from sanctions policy

The European Commission has proposed the creation of a legislative instrument that will protect EU member states from sanctions from third countries.

The question arose after China’s ban on imports from Lithuania. A few days ago, the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade held its first meeting to consider the commission’s proposal.

The Commission intends to create a safe environment for member states against the restrictive and harmful policies of other countries. In particular, the question of the implementation of international sanctions.
