Specifically, DSV is collaborating with French BNP Paribas and British-Chinese credit institution HSBC to prepare a bid for the acquisition.
If DSV ultimately absorbs DB Schenker, it will become the largest logistics company in the world.
One of the other potential buyers was DHL; however, the company officially withdrew from negotiations for the acquisition.
It is worth noting that Deutsche Bahn officially put DB Schenker up for sale in December 2023, with a value estimated between 10 and 15 billion euros.
The sale of the logistics company was deemed necessary to cover DB’s outstanding debts, particularly those of DB Cargo.
As reported earlier, Deutsche Bahn will sell DB Schenker.
