The contract for the Tel Aviv Green LRT has been finalized

The TMT consortium (TLV Metropolitan Tramway Ltd.), consisting of Alstom, Electra & Dan Public Transportation, achieved financial closure for the design, construction, maintenance, and financing of the Green LRT line in Tel Aviv with the Metropolitan Mass Transit System Ltd (NTA), this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The consortium was awarded the contract in May 2022, valued at 2.6 billion euros, with Alstom’s share estimated at 858 million euros.
“Uztemiryulkonteyner” has been transformed into “Temiryulkargo.”
Alstom’s responsibilities include designing, supplying, integrating, testing, and commissioning the railway system, covering tracks, electrification, power supply (Hesop, energy-saving system), signaling, communication system, and supplying 98 Citadis X05 trams.
The Tel Aviv Green LRT will span 39 km with 62 stations, including 4 km underground.
Connecting Holon and Rishon LeZion with the center of Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv University, the industrial and business district in western Herzliya, and the business district in Kiryat Atidim, the line aims to transport an estimated 76 million passengers by 2030.
The trams, featuring fully low floors, will operate as double-unit 34-meter-long trains.
The Citadis X05 trams will be developed and manufactured at Alstom’s Advanced Experience Center in La Rochelle.
