The cog railway Dolderbahn in Switzerland is preparing to update its rolling stock

Stadler has delivered the first of two ordered carriages for this railway, with the second carriage expected in August 2024, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The railway, spanning 1328 meters with an elevation difference of 162 meters, is an important transportation facility in Zurich.

It is operated by the Zurich public transport operator Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich (VBZ) and is jointly owned by the Dolderbahn-Betriebs partnership, with equal shares from the city of Zurich and the Dolder Grand hotel.
The rolling stock, built by Schweizerische Lokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik (SLM) in 1973, will be replaced by new Bhe1/2 carriages from Stadler Bussnang.
The new carriages, designed by Milani agency, provide passenger amenities including seating and wheelchair spaces.
Tactile indicators are also provided to assist people with visual impairments.
This update of the rolling stock underscores the importance of updating transportation infrastructure to ensure passenger safety and comfort, as well as increasing the efficiency and reliability of public transport.
