The French company Thales, bypassing the sanctions, sold technologies and components of a fire control system for guns for new Russian BMD-4 armored vehicles.

Thales sold technology to Russia

This was reported by the Railway Supply railway magazine with reference to Censor.NET. Volunteer Pavel Kashchuk told about this during an inspection of civilian vehicles shot by the invaders in Bucha and Gostomel and an audit of the captured equipment of the Russian army.

Thales sold technology to Russia

“BMD-4s began to be produced and entered service with the Russian army in 2015-16. That is, about two years after the start of the war in Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions that prohibited the sale of military technology to the aggressor country … The most interesting thing here is the fire control system, which allows you to shoot accurately regardless of the weather and time of day. The components and technologies of this system were sold to the Russian Federation by French company Thales under license. That is, according to French drawings and components purchased from France. This is just one of the schemes that allows Western companies to bypass the embargo and supply the Russian Federation with the most modern military technologies. Of course, not without the participation of governments that look at it through their fingers,” says Kashchuk.

Thales Group is an international industrial group that produces information systems for aerospace, military and maritime applications.

Thales has previously introduced three new digital rail solutions.
