Tender for Purchasing Railway Rails: Ukraine Announces Plans for Infrastructure Modernization

Ukraine has launched a tender for purchasing railway rails to modernize its infrastructure and restore damaged tracks. The project will enable the reconstruction of 230 kilometers of railway lines. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The procurement is part of the “Emergency Support to Ukrainian Railways” project, funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Significant financial resources have been allocated to improve Ukraine’s transportation infrastructure.

Participants can submit their bids via the EBRD’s electronic procurement platform until January 16, 2025. The government plans to purchase 29.9 thousand tons of R-65 rails, meeting modern standards.
According to Volodymyr Shemaiev, a Ukrzaliznytsia representative, the rails will support rebuilding 230 kilometers of tracks. This initiative is a crucial step toward enhancing the resilience of Ukraine’s railway system.
