The former Minister of Infrastructure criticized the tender for the selection of a consultant for the passenger vertical of Ukrzaliznytsia.

Tender for consulting the passenger vertical of UZ is registered under Deutsche Bahn

According to him, the tender for UAH 300 million is registered under the German DB Engineering & Consulting (“daughter” of the German railway operator), reports Railway Supply magazine.

“At a time when, in front of the eyes of the whole world, German colleagues loudly turned their backs on us, Ukrzaliznytsia announces an unheard-of consulting on the territory of Ukraine in the amount of more than UAH 300 million, which is issued under DB Engineering & Consulting. Given the state of the company, UZ should definitely have other priorities in directing such investment resources.

These could be:

  • infrastructure investment,
  • rolling stock, this is the volume of 10 new passenger cars (for example, passenger cars on the Mariupol 10d route could be completely updated)
  • support for our railway workers with additional payments, about which they constantly remind, so that they do not have to quit in search of a better fate.”, Vladislav Krykliy reports on his telegram channel.

Recall that on December 31, 2021, the Passenger Company branch announced a tender for the provision of consulting services for UAH 304 million.

At the same time, on August 26, the private joint-stock company Kyiv Electric Car Repair Plant (owned by UZ) entered into an agreement with Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting to provide consultations for UZ.

The value of the contract is 891 thousand euros. However, VSK experts consider the agreement with Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting illegal.

After all, Ukrzaliznytsia deliberately avoided a tender to select a consultant for the company. It is interesting that, according to this agreement, German specialists are actually engaged in the same thing, for which a new tender has now been announced.
