The Mayor of Kharkiv, Mr. Terekhov, has announced the procurement of new carriages for the Kharkiv Metro, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

The city authorities of Kharkiv have declared a tender for the acquisition of rolling stock for the metro, totaling 45 million euros.

For 25 years Ukraine has its own NATIONAL metro train and escalator construction, and we are still looking at foreign companies

The new transport will be put into service on the metro line immediately upon its receipt.

Following this, Igor Terekhov reported that the city is actively working on restoring passenger transport routes. Where possible, tram routes will be replaced with buses.

According to the mayor, the current need is to acquire 80 new trams. The city authorities are actively seeking sources of financing for the purchase of trams and the restoration of damaged contact networks and substations.

Additionally, a tender will be announced for the purchase of electric buses.
