In Sweden, the reconstruction project of the 24 km Malmö – Lund railway section has been completed, which involves increasing the number of tracks from two to four, renovating three existing stations, and constructing a new Klöstergården station in Lund, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

The project commenced in October 2017.

The new section is planned to be put into operation on October 2, 2023.

From September 22 to October 1, 2023, it is closed for train traffic due to the integration of new infrastructure into the network. Bus routes have been organized for passenger transportation during this period.

Klöstergården station in Lund is scheduled to open on December 10, 2023, along with the introduction of a new train schedule.

The capacity of the Malmö – Lund section will increase from 460 to 650 trains per day.

Furthermore, work on another project related to doubling the tracks between the cities of Ängelholm and Helsingborg is nearing completion. This section is planned to open on December 3, 2023.
