Anton Zubikhin, General Director of Trade House STM, presented the Belgrade Diameters project, which envisages the creation of a railway network in the capital of Serbia, which should connect the suburbs of Belgrade, as well as connect the Serbian capital with the Nikola Tesla airport.

STM plans to enter the Serbian market

This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to  tzdjournal.

As part of project, STM plans to supply 39 Lastochka electric trains and create a depot for servicing them, while Russian Railways intends to build and modernize 222 km of railway tracks, as well as to reconstruct 74 stations.

The cost of the Belgrade Diameters is estimated at € 1.2 billion, the construction period should be five years.

Anton Zubikhin asked the prime ministers of the two countries to sign an intergovernmental agreement by the end of the year, on the basis of which the company plans to participate in the Belgrade Diameters.
