Statement by Interpipe Regarding the Biden Administration’s Suspension of Section 232 Tariffs on Imports of Ukrainian Steel

Today, on May 9, 2022, President Joseph R. Biden’s Administration announced that the United States of America will be temporarily suspending 232 tariffs on Ukrainian steel for one year. Ukraine’s steel industry is uniquely important to the country’s economic strength, employing 1 in 13 Ukrainians with good-paying jobs.
It is reported by the railway railway magazine Railway Supply, citing the manufacturer.
“Interpipe’s products directly support the U.S. energy sector and, as one of Ukraine’s largest producers, we look forward to being able to supply our customers again shortly.” Hraibi added: “In addition to the Administration, we are also grateful to Senators Feinstein, Toomey, and other Members of Congress for their leadership on this issue.”
