The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility confirmed the preparation of tender documents. Infrastructure operator Adif has finalized the development of proposals for five planned route sections.

The future high-speed railway will extend 95 km, linking two major Spanish cities. The tendering process is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.

The estimated construction cost of the new line will reach €1.608 billion. This project will integrate Huelva province into the national high-speed rail network.

HSR Seville–Huelva: Key Features of the Route

The high-speed railway will allow trains to reach speeds of up to 350 km/h. The project includes several bridge structures and a tunnel with a total length of 2 km.

A new intermediate station will be constructed in La Palma del Condado, enhancing local accessibility. This modern rail route will reduce travel time to Seville to just 25 minutes.

Spain’s Rail Network Development and HSR Seville–Huelva

The Ministry of Transport is also working on upgrading existing railway infrastructure across the region. Major improvements will be made to the railway line connecting Huelva and Zafra.

Since 2018, investments in the modernization of five railway sections have totaled €120 million. The overall length of the renovated segments now reaches 90.5 km.

These initiatives aim to improve railway transportation and enhance passenger experience. Financial contributions will expand network capacity and enhance operational efficiency.
