Skoda Group has completed the assembly of the first dual-system electric train for Estonia, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.

The exterior and interior of the train’s front carriage were published by the customer, the Estonian passenger transport company Elron.

The first three-car train will soon undergo testing in Pilsen.

Then, in the spring of the following year, it and a second train will be transported to Estonia for operational trials.

Dual-System Electric Train

These trains are based on the RegioPanter platform, designed for lines with different track characteristics and a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

Each train has seating for 270 passengers, including 48 first-class seats. Spaces for wheelchairs, strollers, and bicycles are also provided.

According to the 2020 contract, Skoda Group will deliver 16 similar trains to Elron for €147 million by 2027.
