Indian Railways has significantly expanded the capacity of the Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express. The train, initially equipped with eight coaches seating 530 passengers, now operates with sixteen coaches, accommodating up to 1,128 travelers.

This strategic upgrade addresses growing demand, particularly during festive seasons like Sankranti. Overwhelming patronage rates, recorded between April and December 2024, demonstrated urgent need for more seating capacity on this popular route.

The upgraded configuration includes 14 Chair Cars with 1,024 seats and 2 Executive Class coaches offering 104 premium seats. This adjustment replaces the previous setup of 7 Chair Cars with 478 seats and 1 Executive Class coach offering 52 seats.
South Central Railways General Manager Arun Kumar Jain emphasized the value of this enhancement. He stated that the added capacity would ensure smoother travel for families during peak seasons, particularly festivals.
