Major Infrastructure Project Unveiled
This line will integrate with Line 1 (Blue) and Line 3 (Red) through planned interchanges. Thus, it improves access across São Paulo’s busy metro network for commuters.
CMSP aims to finalize the contract by late 2025 and start construction in 2026. The project, spanning 75 months, will deploy 31 trains for 630,000 daily passengers.
Guarulhos, the state’s second-largest city, will benefit from a trip to the capital under one hour. Meanwhile, Line 13 (Jade) serves the airport but skips the city center.
The metro system currently operates six lines stretching 104.4 kilometers with 91 stations. And its daily ridership exceeds 5 million people, reinforcing its critical role in transportation.
Economic and Transit Benefits Ahead
This development promises improved mobility and reduced travel times for residents every day. Consequently, it supports economic growth and strengthens ties between Guarulhos and São Paulo.
This initiative reflects CMSP’s commitment to expanding São Paulo’s infrastructure for its growing population. So, the tender process will define the city’s transit landscape ahead.
Once completed, the Sky Blue metro will offer a reliable link for hundreds of thousands daily. Therefore, it addresses long-standing demands for better connectivity in the region.
São Paulo, Brazil’s economic hub, continues to invest in sustainable urban transport solutions. Now, this project positions the city for enhanced efficiency and accessibility.
