The project is managed by the State Secretariat for Investment Partnerships (SPI). It includes station upgrades, new train fleets, and integration with São Paulo’s metro and commuter rail systems.

Public involvement in São Paulo rail planning

SPI scheduled three public hearings to discuss the São Paulo project. Events will be held on May 26 in Sorocaba, May 28 in São Roque, and May 29 in São Paulo, all starting at 11 a.m.

These sessions will also stream live on the government’s official YouTube channel. In addition, a public consultation will run from May 30 to June 2, allowing citizens to submit feedback online.

This outreach ensures transparency and encourages community input as São Paulo pushes forward with this major rail expansion under a public-private partnership model.

São Paulo supports clean transit and regional growth

By improving train access between key urban centers, São Paulo is promoting economic growth, cutting emissions, and easing traffic on overburdened highways.

The TIC Eixo Oeste is part of a broader plan to build an integrated, low-carbon regional rail system. The state expects it to stimulate private investment and support sustainable urban development.

This project marks a major step in São Paulo’s long-term transport strategy, linking cities through reliable rail while driving environmental and economic benefits.
