According to the decision, the department will receive 912,204 million hryvnias for the restoration of the railway network under new budget programs.
The State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure in Ukraine will receive 916,226 million hryvnias for the restoration of road networks.
“The restoration of critical infrastructure is a priority area of our work alongside the restoration of housing, social infrastructure, and job creation. The ability to quickly restore railway and road infrastructure in conditions of closed skies and blocked sea routes is extremely important. Railway and road transportation plays a key role in the functioning of our economy, military logistics, and passenger transportation. Thanks to this project, we will have the opportunity to finance the purchase of modular road bridges and materials for urgent road repairs. Additionally, funds will be allocated for the production of fitting platforms to increase container transportation volumes, as well as for the purchase of materials and equipment for the repair of crucial railway bridges,” noted Vice Prime Minister for Ukraine’s recovery, Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov.
It’s worth noting that the grant agreement between Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for the project ‘Restoration of critical logistic infrastructure and network connectivity (RELINC)’ was signed on February 10, 2023, by Vice Prime Minister for Ukraine’s recovery, Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov, and the Regional Director of the World Bank for Eastern Europe, Arup Banerji.
The total project cost is approximately 600 million dollars.
