This will also serve as a new link between Asturias and Galicia, including the cities of Vigo, Pontevedra, La Coruña, and Santiago de Compostela.

In the future, the S106 trains will serve passengers in Madrid, León, and other regions, reducing travel time by 15–18 minutes.

This purchase is part of Renfe’s large investment program in updating its rolling stock, amounting to over 5 billion euros.

The ordered trains are designed to carry more than 500 passengers and are equipped with modern amenities such as touch screens and other services.
