Renfe is purchasing carriages from Tatravagónka

Renfe is acquiring 149 Tatravagónka carriages after approval from the Renfe Mercancías board of directors, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The contract is valued at 39.1 million euros.
The contract was awarded through two lots of negotiated tender within the context of the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan – NextGenerationEU, partially funded by 14.5 million euros.

Slovak company Tatravagónka emerged as the winner of the tender and secured the contract.
Renfe aims to expand, upgrade, and diversify its rolling stock, while also providing more efficient, faster, and safer railway freight services.
