The company intends to operate two pairs of trains running through Austria. This will be the first route in RegioJet’s history that does not include any segment on domestic territory.

RegioJet Gains Support From Austrian Regulator

The project has already received approval from Austria’s Schienenkontrol authority. RegioJet owner Radim Jančura officially confirmed the plans.

The trains will consist of a locomotive and passenger coaches of the Ampz, Bmpz, Bmz, and ABmz models. En route to Budapest, stops are scheduled in Salzburg, Linz, St. Pölten, and two major Vienna stations—Meidling and the Central Station. In Hungary, the train will stop at Hegyeshalom, Mosonmagyaróvár, Győr, and Kelenföld in Budapest.

RegioJet Sets Schedule and Launch Date for New Line

Departures from Munich are planned for 6:35 AM and 3:35 PM, with arrivals in Budapest at 1:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Return services will leave Budapest at 6:00 AM and 3:00 PM, reaching Munich at 12:25 PM and 9:25 PM.

The official start of operations is scheduled for December 2026. With this launch, RegioJet strengthens its position in Central Europe and continues expanding beyond the Czech market.

Recently, RegioJet, along with FlixTrain and several Polish regional operators, secured access to routes in Poland—highlighting the growing competition among private rail carriers across the region.
