The route will feature two weekly services in both directions, ensuring regular and reliable connections between key logistics hubs.
Salzburg, a crucial railway hub in Austria, plays a significant role in the country’s transit transport, while Augsburg is an important industrial center in southern Germany.
The new rail line will connect these cities, providing fast and efficient scheduled freight transport.
TransFER routes are known for their high level of transport organization. They offer both wagonload and container transport, including the transportation of hazardous goods.
ÖBB Rail Cargo Group offers comprehensive logistics solutions, such as direct delivery to destinations for customers without their own rail access.
The company also offers a wide range of additional services, including loading and unloading operations, warehouse logistics, and customs clearance.
Today, ÖBB Rail Cargo Group operates in 18 countries, offering its transport services along the entire route — from the first to the last mile.
Each year, the company manages the movement of up to 419,000 trains, which amounts to approximately 1,150 trips per day.
Annually, the Austrian operator transports over 78 million tons of cargo, highlighting the scale and reliability of its operations on an international level.
The launch of the new route between Salzburg and Augsburg further strengthens RCG’s position as one of the leading players in the European freight rail transport sector.
