Railwhere analyzes routes and reduces emissions

Railwhere is powered by the CORE database, which contains geospatial information such as gradients, tunnel dimensions, speed limits, weight regulations, and other railway network parameters.

The system is enhanced with historical and real-time train movement data. Updates occur almost in real time, enabling precise route planning and minimizing delays.

Freightliner already benefits from Railwhere

Freightliner has implemented the platform to improve stone transport from Mendip to London. As a result, the operator reduced the number of trips, extended train lengths, and cut CO₂ emissions.

The project involves Innovate UK, Aether, and the University of Derby. Their collaboration helped improve transport efficiency and lower fuel expenses.

Railwhere runs on Microsoft Azure’s secure cloud infrastructure, ensuring data protection and flexibility. The platform supports third-party apps and adapts to operator requirements.

This innovation supports logistics digitalization and promotes sustainable rail transport across the UK. Railwhere is poised to become a new industry standard.
