04.06.2022
Ukrzaliznytsia continues organizational activities so that the transportation of grain cargo is carried out through all border crossings (11 out of 13 are currently involved).
Valery Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Work of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, said this at a meeting with representatives of the agricultural market on May 26, Railway Supply magazine reports with reference to Rail Insider.
The official noted that negotiations are currently underway to ensure veterinary and phytosanitary control at two junctions with Poland and Slovakia. We are talking about opening the border crossings Rava-Russkaya-Verkhrat (Poland) and Uzhgorod-Matevtsy (Slovakia) for agricultural cargo.
In particular, the decision of the veterinary and phytosanitary services on the abolition of control for transit grain cargoes through the Republic of Poland is expected. According to Valery Tkachev, such a decision should be made within a week.
At the same time, Ukrzaliznytsia sent a request to Slovakia on the possibility of organizing phytosanitary and veterinary checkpoints at the Uzhgorod-Matevtsy crossing. With the solution, it will also be possible to transport grain cargo through this joint.
Recall that UZ is considering the possibility of opening a non-working border crossing with Romania Delovoe-Valea-Visheului.
