Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw presented the RailOne app on the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), calling it a step forward in India’s transport digitalization. The app allows passengers to access services like e-catering, porter booking, taxi connections, and live train tracking—all from one place.

And it doesn’t stop at convenience. Passengers receive a 3% discount when purchasing unreserved tickets through the app’s Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS). Although reserved ticket bookings remain under the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), RailOne has secured official authorization, aligning it with IRCTC’s commercial partners.

Biometric Login and Space-Saving Interface Set RailOne App Apart

RailOne app users can log in using biometric authentication or a mobile PIN (mPIN), and it supports credentials from both RailConnect and UTS. Because it unifies multiple services in one app, travelers no longer need to download separate applications—saving time and device space.

Available on both Android and iOS platforms, RailOne provides an integrated, secure, and efficient travel experience tailored to modern digital expectations.

Indian Railways Plans Next-Gen Reservation System by 2025

To further support its digital transformation, Indian Railways is developing a new Passenger Reservation System (PRS), expected to go live by December 2025. This system will be multilingual, scalable, and capable of managing up to 150,000 bookings and four million inquiries per minute. It will also include dynamic features like seat selection and fare calendars.

In a parallel effort, CRIS and the Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD) signed an MoU to build AI-based multilingual communication tools. These tools will enable passengers to interact with services in 22 Indian languages, creating a truly inclusive railway ecosystem.

With RailOne app and advanced PRS development underway, Indian Railways is redefining passenger engagement through innovation, accessibility, and technology.
