Public voting for the choice of the names of Rail Baltica stations has begun. Voting will last until the end of the month.

Rail Baltica stations

There are two options for 17 railway stations, but you can offer your own, informs Railway Supply magazine citing Railway Supply.

Latvian Transport Minister Talis Linkays urged to take the choice responsibly, because “the names, like the stations themselves, will serve future generations for many years.”

The proposed options were developed by specialists taking into account the historical, geographical and linguistic aspects. Thus, the names are usually associated with the nearest large settlement or a known object or landmark in the immediate vicinity of the station.

Experts believe that the name should be short and clear, as well as non-promotional. As previously reported, the launch of Rail Baltica was postponed until 2030.
