Indian Railways has launched Puja Special Trains through Gorakhpur in order to meet the increased traffic during Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath. The train routes will connect Mau–Udhna, Sitamarhi–Anand Vihar.

The Railway Board confirmed 150 additional trains will run from September 21 to November 30. So far, more than 2,000 additional journeys are planned. The officials added the expansion aims at decongesting travel movement, particularly to Bihar and north India.

Detailed schedules released

The Mau–Udhna Weekly Special (05017/05018) will originate at Mau every Saturday at 5:30 AM and terminate at Udhna the very next day at noon. Train number 05018 will originate at Udhna on Sundays at 3:00 PM and will halt at Gorakhpur on the way.

The Anand Vihar–Sitamarhi Daily Special (04016/04015) will operate from September 29 through November 30. Train 04016 departs Anand Vihar at 3:30 PM daily and reaches Sitamarhi at 3:00 PM. The train going onwards departs Sitamarhi at 4:30 PM.

Meanwhile, the Gomtinagar–Bengaluru Weekly Special (06529/06530) will run until late December. Train 06529 leaves Bengaluru every Monday at 5:00 PM, reaching Gomtinagar on the fourth day. The return service departs Gomtinagar on Fridays at 12:20 PM.
