Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan SK-AIH Investment Fund, “Kazakhstan Railways,” “Baku International Sea Trade Port,” and China’s Xi’an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation are involved in the initiative. The project aims to strengthen economic ties and improve logistics routes between the countries.

The shares among the partners have been distributed equally. SK-AIH Investment Fund holds 10% of the shares. “Kazakhstan Railways” and “Baku International Sea Trade Port” each own 30%, while Xi’an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation secured 30%. This balance highlights the partners’ commitment to equitable cooperation.
The first phase of construction will cover a five-hectare land area. It will include a universal cargo zone, a covered warehouse of 5,000 square meters, and a container yard accommodating up to 1,000 TEU. This setup will ensure the terminal’s high functionality.
The exact timeline and cost of the project remain undisclosed. Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport has refrained from providing additional comments. However, experts believe the project marks a significant step in developing the East-West transport corridor.
