The Port of Valencia has officially launched its rail motorway service, celebrating the arrival of the first train. This milestone highlights the port’s commitment to sustainable and efficient transport. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Key leaders, including Juan Carlos Arocas of TransItalia, Jesús Calvo of Tramesa, and Mar Chao, President of the Port Authority of Valencia, gathered to witness this groundbreaking event. The terminal now operates at full capacity, connecting road and rail transport seamlessly and efficiently.

Sustainability at the Heart of Port of Valencia’s Rail Motorway
The rail motorway supports transporting truck semi-trailers between roadways and rail, linking Italy and Madrid efficiently. Starting early 2025, the service will include four weekly connections, fostering improved logistics and reduced emissions.
This initiative prevents 16,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, aligning with global sustainability goals. It reflects the Port of Valencia’s leadership in driving eco-friendly transportation and innovation in logistics infrastructure.
