Port Aktau set a monthly container handling record in May 2024, exceeding 5,100 TEUs, breaking its previous record for monthly container volume, according to Kazakhstan Railways, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

In total, during the first five months of 2024, Port Aktau handled over 15,800 TEUs, which is 5,300 TEUs or one and a half times more than the previous year.

Of these, over 14,300 TEUs were transported via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which is 7,100 TEUs or nearly twice as much as the previous year.

In August 2024, Port Aktau plans to acquire several reach stackers and a portal crane with a lifting capacity of 65 tons.
