The Museum of Public Transport in Strsešovice welcomed its half millionth visitor today. Its popularity is gradually growing, in 2019 and last year it recorded two of the highest attendance rates in its history. It is reported by Railway Supply magazine with reference to Railtarget.

This year the museum is looking forwar to another anniversary: in May it will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its opening. The construction of a new exhibition hall of historical road equipment is also planned for autumn. The Strsešovice Public Transport Museum is open to the public on weekends and public holidays. In its expositions, visitors can see more than four dozen historical public transport vehicles, as well as models, historical photographs, historical documents, tickets and maps.

In recent years, the interest of public transport enthusiasts, as well as the general public, in the Museum of Public Transport in Prague’s Streshovice has grown significantly. This is evidenced not only by the record attendance in 2019 and last year, but also by how much time has passed between anniversary visitors. The Public Transport Museum in Prague welcomed its 100,000th visitor on Sunday, July 11, 2004, more than 11 years after its opening. The quarter millionth visitor was recorded on Easter Monday, April 9, 2012. The first 250 thousand visitors came in less than 19 years of the museum’s operation, now the same number of people have visited it in less than 11 years.
