In total, Poland has handed over 60 subway cars to Kiev. Experts from the “Kiev Metropolitan” municipal enterprise are conducting the necessary inspections, and some of them will be used for extensive repairs of Kiev’s existing subway cars.
It’s important to note that these subway cars have undergone significant modernization, including improvements to ventilation, the addition of air conditioning, and updates to the interior of the passenger compartments.
This act of solidarity between Ukraine and Poland underscores the importance of international relations and the willingness of countries to assist each other in matters of transportation infrastructure during challenging historical moments.
Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that the transfer of these subway cars to Kiev was organized by the Ukrainian side.
The Polish authorities claim that the trains are in good condition, with the last maintenance work carried out between 2017 and 2022.
