On the threshold of a new era in public transport in Tallinn, Pesa has completed production of the first low-floor tram, Twist, destined for the capital of Estonia, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This three-section giant, measuring 28.6 meters in length, can accommodate up to 309 passengers, including 65 seated.

According to a statement by Pesa project manager Pavel Hardi to Raport Kolejowy, the tram has already been dispatched from Bydgoszcz, Poland, and is expected to arrive in Tallinn by the end of the month.
Upon arrival, commissioning, testing, and driver training will begin, with the first rides planned for July.
The new tram is equipped with advanced technologies: information displays, passenger counting systems, air conditioning, energy recovery, and remote diagnostics of technical condition.
This will create a comfortable and safe space for passengers and ensure efficient management and servicing of the vehicle.
This success became possible thanks to a contract signed between Pesa and the city operator Tallinna Linnatransport in May 2022 for the supply of 8 trams.
Later, an option for an additional 15 units was exercised, bringing the total order value to €52 million.
This significant agreement opens up new prospects for the development of public transport in the capital of Estonia.
Thus, the introduction of the new Twist tram fleet from Pesa promises a significant improvement in the quality of public transport in Tallinn, providing passengers with a modern and comfortable transportation option.
