Patrick Schnieder has been appointed as Germany’s new Federal Minister for Digital & Transport following the CDU’s victory in the February federal elections. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Patrick Schnieder, born in 1968, represents Bitburg (Rheinland-Pfalz) and has served in the Bundestag since 2009.

Since the 2017 federal elections, Patrick Schnieder has participated in the transport and infrastructure working group, shaping related policies.
He replaces Dr. Volker Wissing, who served as Minister for Digital & Transport from 2021 to 2025.
