The Austrian carrier OBB has published a competition to enter into a framework contract for the supply of passenger carriages, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The acquisition plans include up to 70 double-decker locomotive-hauled passenger carriages.

The procurement cost amounts to €249.5 million.

The carrier currently has a contract with Siemens Mobility for the supply of carriages for the Nightjet overnight service.
