Alstom has signed a framework contract worth 370 million euros for the supply of 50 multi-system Traxx Universal locomotives to leasing company Northrail AG, including up to 16 years of full maintenance, according to the railway portal Railway Supply.

The locomotive agreement

The agreement, announced on June 29, includes a firm order for 15 locomotives with maintenance. The locomotives will be manufactured at Alstom’s plant in Kassel, with delivery starting in 2025, and will be equipped with Atlas ETCS onboard equipment.

“With this innovative new multi-system locomotive, which includes homologation for France, we are very pleased to once again be at the forefront of locomotive leasing,” commented Michael Trensch, a member of the executive board of Northrail.
