The new MOW complex will enhance NJ Transit’s infrastructure maintenance capacity. It will provide modern spaces for vehicle servicing, repair, and right-of-way upkeep, ensuring safer and more reliable transit operations.

NJ Transit Seeks Qualified Teams for Design-Build Contract

Under the special prequalification phase, NJ Transit will assess design-build teams based on technical skills, past experience, and capacity to manage complex transit infrastructure projects.

Only the most qualified applicants will advance to the Request for Proposal (RFP) phase. This approach helps streamline delivery and promotes design innovation throughout the process.

NJ Transit Plans Modern Facility to Replace Flood-Prone Site

The project includes demolition of the current structures in Wood-Ridge, along with environmental cleanup. NJ Transit will then build three new buildings across two of its Clifton sites.

It also includes site grading, utility coordination, new access roads, parking facilities, and integration of maintenance systems and equipment. These upgrades will create a more resilient and efficient maintenance operation.

By modernizing its facilities, NJ Transit aims to reduce service disruptions and improve operational performance. This investment supports the agency’s broader goals of strengthening infrastructure and adapting to climate-related challenges.

The RFQ release is expected shortly. Once approved, NJ Transit will move forward with selecting a team to deliver this key infrastructure upgrade and ensure long-term service reliability.
