German Railways vs. Badgers

All electric locomotives are required to be equipped with a 0.5 MW diesel engine for ‘last mile’ operations.

Previously, Polish carrier PKP Intercity announced Newag as the winner of a tender for 63 multisystem electric locomotives, with an option for an additional 32 units.

Newag was the sole participant in the respective competition, and the contract signing is expected by the end of this year.
