Newag: delivery of hybrid trains for PKP Intercity

Newag is the sole bidder to submit its proposal for the tender by PKP Intercity to supply 35 new hybrid trains, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The tender was announced in December 2023.
The cost of the proposal amounts to 3.36 billion złotys (786.1 million euros), which is 585,191 euros more than PKP Intercity had anticipated, and the proposal is currently undergoing evaluation.
The first unit will be delivered to PKP Intercity 30 months after the contract is signed with the manufacturer.
According to the order, the contractor guarantees technical maintenance of the trains for 10 years, which will be carried out with the involvement of the operator’s staff.
