Rail Vikas Nigam Limited oversees this project, which is now in the final stages, with only track laying and ballast work remaining. Officials see the new infrastructure as essential to reducing rail traffic congestion, offering smoother travel for pilgrims and locals alike during peak times.

How the New Railway Bridge Will Improve Daily Travel

The bridge is expected to revolutionize rail travel, eliminating extended train stoppages and delays previously experienced along the single-track Rambagh-Varanasi route. According to Project Director Vinay Agarwal, this new infrastructure will be ready for rail traffic by December, ensuring a seamless journey between Varanasi and Prayagraj.

During the Mahakumbh, plans include disembarking pilgrims at Jhunsi station, allowing direct access to the mela grounds. Additionally, a holding area at Jhunsi will help manage the anticipated crowds, enhancing travel for millions. Regular travel will also improve, with the double-track bridge increasing efficiency, reducing station congestion, and saving travel time for daily passengers.

This bridge is part of a broader railway expansion to create a reliable and comfortable travel experience for commuters. Enhanced facilities and train frequency will result in shorter wait times, better convenience, and increased capacity for both local and long-distance passengers.

By December, this new railway bridge will be a crucial link, improving access between key cities and contributing to regional growth. This modernized infrastructure demonstrates the commitment to efficient travel, benefiting both daily passengers and event visitors alike.
