Currently, all these carriages are undergoing mandatory testing and will soon be put into operation.
The purpose of the rolling stock upgrade is to enhance passenger comfort and convenience.

The premium class carriages are equipped with modern amenities aimed at improving service quality and making rail travel the preferred mode of transport.
In the economy class carriages, the seating arrangement has been changed so that passengers face either the departure station or the destination station, providing additional convenience.
The managing director of Kenya Railways noted that passenger feedback was taken into account when designing the new carriages.

This includes seats and toilets adapted for people with disabilities, as well as information signs in Braille.
All carriages are equipped with air conditioning, charging points at each seat, baby changing stations, foldable tables with trays, small item pockets, and Wi-Fi.
The new carriages are designed to improve travel conditions and make them more comfortable for all categories of passengers.
It is expected that they will be an important step in the development of passenger transportation in Kenya and attract more people to use rail transport.
