29.06.2025
The new Gwalior to Bengaluru train cuts travel time and opens direct access to India’s IT capital for students, professionals, and families across Madhya Pradesh. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia launched the weekly train from Gwalior to Bengaluru in a public ceremony at Gwalior Railway Station. He also joined passengers on the first leg of the journey to mark the occasion.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw virtually attended the event and joined in flagging off the train, signaling strong central and state cooperation.
For years, travelers from the Gwalior-Chambal region had to reach distant cities like Bhopal or Kota to access southbound trains. This detour added up to eight extra hours.
Now, the Gwalior to Bengaluru train completes the trip in about 30 hours with key stops at Shivpuri, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Bina, Vidisha, and Bhopal. This move brings convenience and time savings to thousands.
Gwalior to Bengaluru Train Supports Students and Job Seekers
Scindia said the new route marks a milestone for the region’s development, especially for those pursuing careers in IT or higher education. Many students travel to Bengaluru every year for studies and job opportunities.
He added that this direct train strengthens personal and professional ties between North and South India, empowering young people with better mobility options.
Government Sees Train as Part of Wider Infrastructure Push
Scindia credited the launch to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on regional growth and Chief Minister Yadav’s leadership in infrastructure delivery. Both have prioritized efficient connectivity.
With this addition, Gwalior now has greater access to national routes and economic centers. That, Scindia said, will fuel job creation, promote digital integration, and improve long-distance travel for residents.
This direct rail service is more than just a convenience—it’s a catalyst for opportunity, connection, and inclusive development.
