New Carriages for Prague Funicular

The funicular line is situated on the slope of Petřín Hill in the center of Prague, Czech Republic, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.
The Prague Public Transport Operator (DPP) has signed a contract worth approximately 138 million Czech crowns (5.64 million euros) with Doppelmayr lanové dráhy, a subsidiary of the Austrian-Swiss group Doppelmayr/Garaventa, for the supply of two carriages for the Lanová dráha na Petřín funicular with a track gauge of 1435 mm.

The Doppelmayr/Garaventa group specializes in the construction of cable cars, funiculars, and the supply of rolling stock and equipment for them.
The Italian company Leitner also participated in the competition.
The assembly of the carriages will be carried out at the factory in the Swiss town of Olten, the control and monitoring system will be provided by Frey AG Stans, and the traction cable will be supplied by Fatzer.
