Nebraska soybean plant boosts AGP’s rail-served operations
12.08.2025
A new soybean processing facility in Nebraska is set to boost AGP’s capacity, combining advanced technology and rail infrastructure to handle large-scale soybean meal and oil shipments efficiently. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Nebraska facility enhances AGP’s processing network
Ag Processing Inc. (AGP) recently opened its newest rail-served soybean processing and degumming plant in David City, Nebraska. The facility marks a major step in expanding AGP’s production footprint in the Midwest.

The site is AGP’s eleventh soybean processing location and will begin commercial operations by the end of the month. It is designed to process over 50 million bushels of soybeans annually and produce about 700 million pounds of degummed oil.
Nebraska plant integrates advanced rail logistics
Covering 273 acres, the site includes 2.5 miles of paved roads and 13.6 miles of track connecting to Union Pacific Railroad, BNSF Railway Co., and Nebraska Central Railroad Co. These links streamline both incoming and outgoing shipments.
AGP Chief Operations Officer Lou Rickers said the track network enables the company to load a 110-car unit train every three to four days. This capacity allows holding a loaded train, receiving an empty one, and building another simultaneously.
In addition to soybean meal, the plant will load oil shipments into 110-car unit trains in just two days when railcars are available. This rapid turnaround improves efficiency, reduces costs, and strengthens AGP’s competitive advantage.
