Mumbai Train Services Suspended Three Nights for Metro Work
08.06.2025
Mumbai Train Services will be suspended for three nights between Mira Road and Bhayander as part of Metro Line 9 construction, causing schedule changes and short-term commuter disruptions across the Western Railway network. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The shutdown will occur from June 7 to June 10, between 1:30 AM and 3:15 AM on the first night, and from 1:45 AM to 3:00 AM on the next two nights. The window was selected to reduce traffic impact.

Trains on all lines will face schedule adjustments, including cancellations and early terminations. This is necessary for the safe launch of heavy girders over active tracks and to protect overhead electrical equipment.
Mumbai Train Services Adjusted for Night Work
Western Railway confirmed the last Churchgate–Virar local will depart at 11:58 PM on June 7, with the final Bhayander-bound train leaving at 11:38 PM. Southbound service from Virar will end at 12:05 AM.
Similar modifications will follow on June 8 and 9. Commuters are urged to verify timings before traveling, especially if relying on night services for work or connection to other modes of transport.
Mumbai Train Services Face Sunday Jumbo Block
In addition to the nightly interruptions, a jumbo block is planned on June 8 from 10:35 AM to 3:35 PM between Churchgate and Mumbai Central. This pause supports regular track and signal maintenance.
During this time, slow services will shift to fast lines. Some trains will terminate at Bandra or Dadar, while others will be canceled. These adjustments aim to maintain safety during critical upkeep.
Officials described the disruptions as temporary but essential. Metro Line 9 will improve east-west access in Mumbai’s western suburbs and promote a cleaner, more efficient transit system.
Mumbai Train Services may face short-term delays, but long-term benefits include lower congestion and better multimodal integration. Passengers should check real-time updates and plan ahead to avoid issues.
