The national translator of the country, ONCF, has published a competition worth 16 billion Moroccan dirhams ($1.6 billion) for the delivery of 150 regional and 18 high-speed trains, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

According to the tender documentation, the winner must establish a factory in the country and build a depot.

Since 2018, Morocco has been operating the high-speed Al-Boraq line with Alstom rolling stock.

Initially, the procurement volume was estimated at 120 trains, with 10 major global rail transport manufacturers, including Alstom, CAF, and Talgo, participating in the pre-tender request for proposals.
