A Game-Changer for Travel in Morocco

The 430-kilometer high-speed rail line is expected to drastically cut travel times. Once completed, it will allow passengers to travel from Tangier to Rabat in just one hour, from Tangier to Casablanca in one hour and forty minutes, and from Tangier to Marrakech in two hours and forty minutes.

Investing in Modernization and Urban Mobility

Along with the high-speed line, Morocco is investing in 168 new trains, worth 29 billion MAD ($2.9 billion). Additionally, the country is enhancing urban transport systems in key cities like Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech, which will improve mobility across metropolitan areas.

The project aims to integrate over 40% of local industry through partnerships with international companies such as Alstom, CAF, and Hyundai Rotem. These collaborations will not only bring advanced technologies but also stimulate local economic growth and job creation.

French President Emmanuel Macron has praised the growing partnership between Morocco and France. He highlighted how this project is a direct result of the bilateral cooperation agreements made during his state visit to Morocco last October.

The high-speed rail line will serve 59% of Morocco’s population and connect regions contributing to 67% of the national GDP. This infrastructure initiative is expected to drive Morocco’s economic growth and strengthen its position globally.
