Loading to Slovakia is planned to be limited due to repair “windows”

The movement of trains to Slovakia is planned to be limited due to repair work scheduled from May 27 to June 2 on the Uzhhorod-Matevtsy-Ganyska line.
According to the railway magazine Railway Supply, this was discussed during an online meeting held on May 12 between the carriers of Ukraine and Slovakia.
As noted during the meeting, it is planned to introduce a convention for loading in this direction from May 20 before the start of repair work.
As of May 11, 4.6 thousand wagons followed in the direction of the border crossing Uzhgorod – Matevtsy. The actual queue reached 16 days.
At another crossing with Slovakia – Chop – Cierna nad Tisou – 5.5 thousand wagons have accumulated. The queue is 17 days.
The most difficult situation with rolling stock downtime is observed on the border with Romania, where the queue of grain carriers is already approaching 100 days.
